Stonemasons of Dorset only use lime based mortars, we do not use cement.
We use hydraulic and puttied lime with various sands and stone dusts to match a variety of strengths, colours and textures.

We are fully aware of the process of using lime mortars that is required to produce the correct result. Tending and tamping shrinkage cracks, keeping damp by mist spraying and protecting with damp hessian and polythene until the mortar has set.
