About Stonemasons of Dorset
Stonemasons of Dorset was founded after earning ten years experience in the stonemasonry industry in two hemispheres! The business was built on the foundation of a City & Guilds Diploma in Advanced Stonemasonry at the Building Crafts College.
The founder of Stonemasons of Dorset, Ian Viney, has had the honour of working on many landmark & historic buildings both here in the U.K.:
- The Chantry, Bridport
- The British Museum, London
- Bertholey House, Wales
- Dundas Aquaduct, Bath
- Holy Trinity Church, Nailsea
- Lord Mayor's Chapel, Bristol
- Wotton Basset Town Hall
- Nunney Castle, Somerset
- Bath Abbey, Bath
- Temple Church, Bristol
as well as in Australia:
- St Paul's Cathedral, Melbourne
- Hobart Treasury, Tasmania
- Angelsea Barracks, Hobart, Tasmania
We have also notched up much invaluable experience from our many projects for private residential clients.
Stonemasons of Dorset also undertake new projects including stone staircases, walls, windows, fire surrounds, lettering and paving. All new projects are completed with the same sympathetic approach to the surroundings and the budget available.
Health and safety of the building and personnel are always approached with the utmost seriousness.
